Grey 2016

Single-channel video, 17:29 min loop, with sound.

Grey is a single-channel video installation that explores the tactile qualities of melancholy. In a string of grey tableaux, the video depicts a small group of women in different natural or urban scenes, evoking the simultaneity of immersion and difference that determines our psychological processing of reality. Melancholy itself is represented as something essentially embodied; something that has a very concrete visual and material manifestation; and as something paradoxically beautiful.

Shown as part of the exhibition 'Hverdagsbilleder - Videokunst i flere dimensioner' (Everyday Images) at Randers Art Museum in 2016.
