Projected onto six towering pillars arranged in a row, Involved presents a group of naked figures slowly moving heavy sculptural objects across a dimly lit space. The work captures the strenuous cadence of bodies in motion, their gestures illuminated only by the shifting beams of flashlights exposing them and casting shadows across the room. The purpose of the task remains unclear—what the objects are, what their function is, or why they must be moved—but the act of moving becomes meaningful in itself. Involved transforms effort into poetry, presenting motion as a state of being: not toward a goal, but as a continual labour with an innate value and its own perceivable aesthetic.
