In Still Walking, Katja Bjørn explores the metaphor of life as a road by staging an abstract situation in which a woman makes her way across an endless and mercilessly straight road flanked by water and pummeled by a harsh winter wind. Throughout the video, other women periodically enter the frame, follow her for a while, and then leave again. The woman walks as if driven by an immense momentum, a decision to simply walk, in defiance of the deathly throbs of entropy that the landscape implies. Still Walking is thus an image of will, of defiance, and of a simple yet powerful existential drive.
